booking an Airport journey we require some important information that will
assist us in making sure that your journey goes as smoothly as possible.
Please have the following information to hand before calling us, thank
|1) A mobile telephone number
that we can give to our drivers (very important when picking up at Airports.)
|2) Return flight number if
we are picking you up from an Airport. We do not require an outbound
flight number from the UK.
|3) Country of origin of your
flight returning back into the UK.
|4) The exact time that your
return flight lands back into the UK, this is so that we can
look on the live flight schedules on the internet to see if your flight
is on time. We do not require the time you think you will be out
of the terminal, we estimate this based on experience and the number of
people being picked up.
|5) When being picked up from
Kettering or the local area to go to an Airport, please tell us what time
you want to arrive at the airport and not what time your flight takes off!
It is pointless to give us your flight take off time, what is important
is what time you want to arrive at the Airport, if we know this, we can
work back from that time to work out the time you should be picked up this
end. We take customers to the Airport everyday so we are pretty accurate
with our timings.
|Occasionally problems do
occur when we pick customers up from Airports however, the majority of
problems are caused due to wrong information being given to us by the person
booking the journey. Some of these problems are caused by the following:
1) Customers given us the
time that their flight takes off from it's origin rather than the exact
time that it lands back into the UK.
2) Customers given us an
incorrect flight number.
3) Customers given us the
estimated time they think they will exit the terminal building rather than
the exact time the in bound flights is scheduled to land back into the

mobile phone number or forgetting to take the phone with them or forgetting
to take a charger with them on holiday so consequently they cannot call
our driver at the Airport.
Customers not going to the
agreed pickup point and consequently our driver has difficulty locating
Please note that 99.9% of
our customers are picked up smoothly and without problems! If you
ensure that you give us the correct information when booking your Airport
journey you will also be picked up without any problems.
|Choice of Pickup arrangement:
|Able cars & taxis offers
our customers two methods of pickup arrangement which we will give you
the choice of when you are making your booking. Please note that
the majority of customers op for option one as it is cheaper but might
not be suitable for elderly people or people visiting the UK for the first
|Option 1 - (Included in
When you arrive back into
the UK and turn on your mobile phone, you will receive a text message from
our driver who will be waiting just outside of the Airport and normally
2 minutes away. The text message will inform you of the drivers name
and his mobile number. It is very important that you do not call
our driver as soon as you land but wait until you are at the pickup point
and then call him. We normally ask you to make your way to the pavement
outside of departures (not arrivals) this is normally one level up or down
or in the case of smaller Airports such as Birmingham, Luton and East Midlands
it will be the exact same spot that we dropped you off. Once at the
pickup point you can call our driver who will drive round to pick you up.
If for some reason you do not receive a text message you can call our office
on: 01536 515151 and we will inform our driver that you are ready to be
picked up. Please also note that we do not know which of our drivers
will be picking you up until the day of your pickup so we cannot give you
this information in advance.
|Option 2 - Meet &
Greet Service, Cost: An additional £10.00
This option is suited and
preferred mostly by elderly people who require assistance with luggage
and who might find it difficult navigating around Airports and Business
customers arriving into the UK for the first time. We also offer this service
to all of our other customers. A meet & Greet service is exactly
as it suggests! Our driver will park up in the Airports short stay
car park, wait in the arrivals hall displaying your name so that you can
easily identify him and he will assist you with your luggage as well as
take you to the vehicle. Please note that the £10 fee is mainly
to cover our parking charges at the Airports.
